  1. Zu-jing this is very interesting, this can be very useful for self defense. I never thought that japanese names were that confusing and difficult of remember.
Now I'm curious about how was the old military of Japan, I always thought that samurais were the japanese version of swordman, but looks like I was wrong.
If I remember well most samurais had honor and they ended most part of ninjas by doing an ambuscade.
And the samurais without honor do something called Tsujigiri that was atac and kill someone on the middle of the night with the intention of try a new fight style, or see how sharp was the blade of the new weapon that the had.

  2. In this japonosa sport you can see the traditional and cultural things of its antiquity, in this video teaches you some basic attacks and low or medium defenses, also shows us 7 styles of bokken katas and 3 katas of kodachi. In Japan this type of sport comes from the samurai (during the konfu period in the X-XIX centuries), it usually serves to designate a wide variety of ancient warriors, although its true meaning is a military elite that ruled the country for hundreds of years. Historically, the image of a samurai was more related to that of a horsearcher than to that of a swordsman.
