Speed in football

  1. Hi, what’s up?
During this last assessment, we were practicing different football as well as speed methods in P.E. lessons; and, considering that our posts had to deal about one of these two topics, I finally tried to choose a video referring to both of them. Therefore, with this tutorial we can gain a correct understanding of swiftness when it comes to football.
I want to take this time in order to emphasize some of the most essential points to bear in mind for a suitable football training.
    1. A good way to begin with, may be to use cones as “guides”. We must run the ball using both legs and going around every cone. At first, we might do it slowly, but the aim of this exercise is to improve our acceleration every time.
    2. One of the best things in any sport (such as football), is that we are constantly challenging ourselves, thus, we will be able to do this circuit faster if we go little by little.
    3. Whether we are right handed, we should start kicking the ball with the right leg. Afterwards, we stop it at the middle of the two cones, and finally we kick it out with the left one. If we are left handed, we can do this exercise just changing legs’ utilization.
From my part, this is all. See you the next time!

  2. Hi Javier, I have decided to comment to you because I think you have chosen a very complete video, as you said we have been working these days the speed and the soccer and I think this video shows the complementation of speed and soccer.
I also think that this circuit is one of the main things to do in a soccer training, since it helps you improve your control of the ball and your speed.
As you have said is a sport in which you are gradually overcoming and an option to improve is instead of using your strong leg to start, would be to try to start with the weak, ie if you are right-handed start with the left and If you are left-handed start with the right, so you can improve and have the same practice with one leg as with the other.
    Bye, bye.
